Last week we looked at God’s Promise concerning our faith, but now we turn to what is really at the core of our faith,

_________________________________________Faithfulness of God

I have included some of the Hebrew and Greek from which we can recognize some of the names of God we have just finished studying.

El Amiyr(faithful), Rachuwm(Merciful) Yovah, Makrothumeo(Patient), Yahweh Nathan Sha’an(God has given rest), ‘Asah Mopheth (You have done wonders), Etsah Rachowq (Counseled from afar), Emet Amiyr(faithful and true), Lo’ Azab Darash(You have not forsaken them that seek you), Re’esh Dabar ‘emeth ‘owlam(The sum of Your Word is true forever), Kol mishpat tsedeq(All Your judgements are righteous), Yacad 'erets `amad(You founded the earth, and it still stands), hosos gar epaggelia theos, en Autos ho nai, kai en Autos ho amen(All as are promises of God, in Him are Yes, and Amen.) Checed lo’ muwsh, Briyth Shalowm lo mowt(My mercy will not depart, The covenat of my peace will not be removed) Etsah Charaba kol Chephets ‘Asah(My purpose will rise and my desire I will do,)

Deuteronomy 7:9 Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

Deuteronomy 4:31 (For the Lord thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

Psalm 105:8 He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.

Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Hebrew 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

2 Timothy 2:13 If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

1Kings 8:56 Blessed be the Lord, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.

Isaiah 25:1 O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

Psalm 9:10 And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

Psalm 119:160 Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.

Psalm 119:89-90 For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven. Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth.

1 Samuel 15:29 And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for he is not a man, that he should repent.

2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.

Psalm 89:34 My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.

Isaiah 54:10 For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee.

Isaiah 46:10-11 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: Calling a ravenous bird from the east, the man that executeth my counsel from a far country: yea, I have spoken it, I will also bring it to pass; I have purposed it, I will also do it.

But let us look at the aspect of God which is of utmost importance to us as flesh and bone in a world of sin and grief...His mercy.
Psalms 136
O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever.

O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever.

To him who alone doeth great wonders: for his mercy endureth for ever.

To him that by wisdom made the heavens: for his mercy endureth for ever.

To him that stretched out the earth above the waters: for his mercy endureth for ever.

To him that made great lights: for his mercy endureth for ever:

The sun to rule by day: for his mercy endureth for ever:

The moon and stars to rule by night: for his mercy endureth for ever.

To him that smote Egypt in their firstborn: for his mercy endureth for ever:

And brought out Israel from among them: for his mercy endureth for ever:

With a strong hand, and with a stretched out arm: for his mercy endureth for ever.

To him which divided the Red sea into parts: for his mercy endureth for ever:

And made Israel to pass through the midst of it: for his mercy endureth for ever:

But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red sea: for his mercy endureth for ever.

To him which led his people through the wilderness: for his mercy endureth for ever.

To him which smote great kings: for his mercy endureth for ever:

And slew famous kings: for his mercy endureth for ever:

Sihon king of the Amorites: for his mercy endureth for ever:

And Og the king of Bashan: for his mercy endureth for ever:

And gave their land for an heritage: for his mercy endureth for ever:

Even an heritage unto Israel his servant: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Who remembered us in our low estate: for his mercy endureth for ever:

And hath redeemed us from our enemies: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Who giveth food to all flesh: for his mercy endureth for ever.

O give thanks unto the God of heaven: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Let us, then, give thanks for God’s faithful Mercy!
